Multiple Teams · JV Football vs Klein HS

The Westfield High School JV Black and Red teams traveled to Urlich Middle School to take the field for their last game of the season, versus Klein High School’s JV squads on Thursday afternoon.

The Westfield JV Black team scored on an impressive 75 yard kickoff return for a touchdown (their second TD return in two weeks), to tie the game at 7-7.  But the offense missing 2 more starters for the game, really struggled on the afternoon.  They were very inconsistent and never got into the endzone on the day.  This of course put even more pressure on the defense, who made plays at times as well, but wasn’t able to put keep Klein out of the endzone.  Klein would defeat the JV Black squad by a final score of 19-7.

The JV Red game saw Westfield jump out to an early 14-0 lead, and then turn the ball over on fumbles during 2 of their second half drives.  Those turnovers would keep Klein in the game and led to both of their scores.  However, after Klein’s second TD, they decided to go for two, with six minutes left in the game, and excellent plays by the defense kept the score at 14-13.  The Westfield offense would manage to get two first downs and run the clock out, preserving the victory.  With the win, the JV Red team ended the year as DISTRICT CHAMPS.  Congratulations to all the young men who were a part of it.
